Should you be feeling spoilt for choice at the embarrassment of riches available to the discerning visitor to Tanzania, we have offered a little smorgasbord of suggestions below.

1. Tanzanian Birding Safari - as the name suggests, a carefully crafted safari that takes in those endemic ornithological areas often left untouched by a conventional safari. Minimum two people.

2. Northern Tanzania walking safari - Kilimanjaro, Ngorogoro Highlands, Tarangire, spending as much of it on foot as the National Parks will allow. Minimum two people.

3. Southern Tanzania walking safari - This time we head down to the rarely-visited Udzungwa Mountains and the vast Selous Game Reserve with Ruaha thrown in for game-viewing. Minimum three people.

4. Tanzanian Explorer - A comprehensive exploration of the Tanzanian National Parks with highlights including Selous, Ruaha, Mikumi, Tarangire and Ngorogoro.

5. Gorilla and Wildlife Safari - a safari that allows you to combine a visit to the Northern Tanzanian National Parks with a visit to the gorillas at Parc National des Volcans in Rwanda.

6. Wildlife, beaches and river - a safari combining mid range camping with some luxury thrown in, superb game viewing, remote parks and game reserves, wildlife on the Indian Ocean, river cruises on the Wami River, Stone Town and the beaches of Zanzibar (and of course the Tanzanian cultural experience).
